Let's face it, women love makeup. But you need to be aware.  The

Environmental Working Group has a searchable database of 25,000 personal care products. You may learn
that some products are actually unsafe.  And, there's more, many synthetic chemicals in fragrances, such as
phthalates, are not listed on labels. Ugh. So, where do we turn?  Some even have linked  phthalates to reproductive
problems or allergies. WOW!

What about lipstick...we all love to it.  But do you know there is lead in this product?  Do your research.
Be picky about your lipstick. See a list at SafeCosmetics.org

Are women like apples?

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The men don't want to reach for the
good ones because they are afraid of failing and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the
ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in
reality, THEY'RE amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one that's brave
enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Remember, YOU are a good apple!
Share this with other women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked.

Ovarian Cancer

About 1 in every 57 women in the United States will develop ovarian cancer. Most cases occur in women over the age of 50, but this disease can also affect younger women. Ovarian cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system. The sooner ovarian cancer is found and treated, the better a woman's chance for recovery. But ovarian cancer is hard to detect early. Many times, women with ovarian cancer have no symptoms or just mild symptoms until the disease is in an advanced stage. Scientists are studying ways to detect ovarian cancer before symptoms develop.

Figs aren’t just for people looking to add more fiber to their diet. They are also cited as a great way to replace fat in your recipes because of their texture. Did you know they are the only fruit to ripen on the tree! For more information on figs and other fruits and vegetables, visit the CDC’s web site fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov.
